This is why you need to give 2TouchPOS a Good look when you are sizing up POS systems. Part 1

Give 2TouchPOS a GOOD LOOK is a 2-Part Blog!

    1. 2TouchPOS Understands Your Needs

Every process in the hospitality business (payment processing, order taking, transaction processing, printer routings, expediting orders, product transfers, etc.) are noted and worked through using 2TouchPOS during the demonstration phase. We provide a summary of each process within our POS solution.  The team at 2TouchPOS has extensive industry knowledge and we are able to make recommendations once we get to know your business, based upon the thousands of successful installations and the complex solutions we have provided for our customers.

    2. Due Diligence

What do you know about 2TouchPOS as a company that provides a POS Software System? There are many companies that will sell you a system but very few that are exclusively in the restaurant point of sale business. 2TouchPOS is a company that is “in” the hospitality business. We have been dedicated to the hospitality market for decades and have vast amounts of knowledge and expertise. Once you make a decision on a system purchase, you are married to the company providing you with the system. Make sure you spend the time getting to know us! Do your homework you’ll like what you find.

To get to know more about POS Providers you’ll want to ask:

- How long has the company been in business?

You want to ensure that the company will be around as long as you have their POS system. Most businesses fail within the first five years.

- How stable is the company?

A financially strong company will have sufficient revenue and resources to support you for the life of the POS system.

- How strong is the Technical Support?

Technical Support with 2TouchPOS is 24/7. You can visit our Technical Support Page www.2TouchPOS.com,  to find out more.  Our You Tube Channel can show you how many of our processes are completed.  Pick a Play List and grab some popcorn!

   3. Training (What do our competitors offer?)

Training is a responsibility that we will share. At 2TouchPOS we understand that training is a continuous process.  It is Human Nature to want to save money in this area. But, as we consider YOUR return on investment, you will earn many times more Back than the training costs, with users who know the system and use it efficiently. Owners have purchased great point of sale systems only to use them as glorified cash registers because of a lack of training. Your training plan should resemble the following:

- Pre-installation – With 2TouchPOS you get a number of hours for training with our tech team. However the training begins with the topic of your menu. Although the menu build isn’t exactly formal training you’ll get user interaction and begin to build those brain pathways through these conversations and hands on interaction with your tech team members. Formal training begins when you arrange it with the tech team member assigned to your case. 2TouchPOS offers eLearning which enhances your training by providing an interactive means to get to know the system. eLearning is offered before some establishments even receive the system. Start learning after the sale!

- Training meeting with your Assigned Technician – This training normally takes place remotely at your location. Point of sale training for employees normally only requires an hour or two. This will cover some transaction details but mainly focuses on office management functions such transaction processing, printer verification, requisition routing, reporting, closing procedures, and Q&A.  Make sure you don’t overwhelm yourself at this point with too much information. Learn what you need to run your business day to day. More training should be available in the future online and during your first several weeks using the system.

- Go Live – Your soft opening provides you with a means to use the system and work interactively with a tech team member who is on standby.  This training normally takes place remotely at the store location.

- 1 Month Post-Installation – You have had some time with the POS system and will need to generate month end reports. This is also a good time to train on questions that have come up since the initial training. Post-Installation training is often accomplished through a phone call and remote access to the retailers system.

- 3-6 Month Post-Installation – Now you know your way around the POS software. You have established procedures, and the processes are automated.  At this time you may want to learn the advanced features of the software to give you a strategic advantage. (Like the Menu Engineering Report.)

With 2TouchPOS you get training hours so YOU can decide how you would like to use them.   Have other Point of Sale companies thought about how to meet your training needs?

   4. Buying on Price

Once you start your search for a POS software you will be bombarded with low priced hardware and POS software options. Advertisements display unbelievable prices. Our suggestion to you is to resist the temptation of trying to save yourself a few dollars with cheap hardware and free software. It will end up costing you more in the long run with monthly fees and Hardware Failures. The low priced computers and printers advertised are cheap for a reason. They are consumer level products that aren’t manufactured to take the daily twelve hour beating most environments will impose on them.

Low priced hardware is difficult for anyone to support because the internal components of the computer changes on a frequent basis. You never know what’s inside a less expensive computer. You need to make sure that you can upgrade, enhance and maintain a hardware system that will last. Make sure the software you want is compatible with the hardware you buy. You’ve just saved yourself a few dollars on hardware but now get to pay an unlimited hourly rate for the point-of-sale company to figure out the problem. ARRGH! With cheap hardware, it may be only a matter of time until your POS software no longer runs properly.

With 2TouchPOS our account managers get to know your business and your needs;  and they will make sure you GET what you need. When you buy our system hey; it’s a Package deal!

  5. Purchasing One Size Fits All System

There is not a single point-of-sale system that is a perfect fit for every type of establishment. The hospitality industry has several different niche markets that all have unique needs. As an example, Night Clubs and High Volume Bars require a pos system that integrates with their liquor dispensing software and inventory control systems. Restaurants may be more concerned with order taking, how requisitions are positioned and whether the system will be flexible with courses and table assignments.

To find a Point-of-Sale System specific to your establishment you have to identify what you need. Make a list of the system attributes you’re looking for. Make sure you have that list handy when you talk to POS System providers. So... can the other POS Systems do everything on your list? And have you talked to the 2TouchPOS Guys yet?

6. How long will it take until your New System becomes OLD?

Point-of-sale systems have a tendency to become obsolete pretty quickly. You need to ask how upgrades work for software versions and research your hardware units to find out average life expectancy. Informed reviews can help with your assessment.  POS systems have been around for more than three decades now. The feature lists are extensive, and millions of users have helped software developers create features specific to the industry. 95% or more of the features you will require will be offered in a single package. If you have something that you really need most of the time the software provider will have to adjust to meet your needs; just as you will have to adjust to them. Owning a POS system really is a 2-way street.

Some might think that customizing any software freezes you into the version you purchase and precludes you from moving forward with future releases. In some cases with 2TouchPOS that is true;  however there are still many establishments who have told us what they need and we continue to support their system. At 2TouchPOS we include rolling versions in our support plan. It is our goal to keep you moving forward regardless of what we have worked together to customize!
