12.) Can My POS Play Music while I work? I need that to do INVENTORY….

Ahh yes good old number 12. No 2TouchPOS doesn’t play music.

 However you can use your ear buds and phone to get the job done. Or; stream music from your computer. If you really want it you’ll find a way. That doesn’t mean you shouldn’t get 2Touch though; don’t base your decision upon that!

Now let’s talk about inventory. The first thing I’m going to tell you is that there is no getting around doing inventory. JUST DO IT!

However, the accuracy of your inventory is determined by a combination of factors.

 Let’s list a few for you:

1. Frequency-you need to establish a physical inventory interval.  How often you take inventory or how little; is up to you. However, for the sake of accuracy you should do it often especially if your establishment is really busy.  Many places I know complete a weekly inventory; that is because of deliveries.  Busy kitchens with daily deliveries however take food inventory even more frequently. Perhaps even after every shift at the very least, consumption is noted.  Each department then is accountable for turning in a monthly inventory sheet that compiles all collected data from the previous shorter inventory intervals.  If you are an owner you may want to be looking for patterns in your sales and inventory use.  If that is the case most owners would not be waiting to review the inventory information monthly. They want it sooner.
    
2. Physical inventory is another story.  Product sheets would have to be created and broken down by department.  Then your trusted employees would need to have time set aside to do the counting.  You would have to create a process for determining consistency with identifying product levels.  Liquor bottles all should be counted and counting using decimals or percentages is not always practical because each employee taking inventory may identify levels in a different way.  2Touch can provide you with sales data and, and an inventory countdown that can be used to check against physical inventory.
    
3. Data Key is the 2Touch way to download consumption information captured in the 2TouchPOS system.  To make this work no matter what inventory software is used, a physical inventory must occur.  Some of our partners use a scale for bar liquors, other compare ordering data with the amounts sold.  But nothing tells you where you’re at like physical inventory.  Either way having an inventory software that assists with the calculations saves the restaurant owner time and money.
    

Inventory is a chore for any business owner.  When you think about your business in terms of profit and loss then we begin to look at what we spend most of our money on.  In most restaurants, nightclubs, and bars our top investment as business owners is our inventory and our employees. I guess the whole point is take the time to do inventory.  Make it Physical Inventory and don’t skimp on the details.
